Holland: Student numbers rise 17% over five years
Nearly 117,000 students began on a bachelor degree course in September 2007 in the Netherlands, says the central statistics agency CBS. This is 17% more than in 2002. The most popular subjects are law which grew by 75% and marketing and public relations with a rise of 67%.
Total number of students enrolled in 2007/08: 584,978
- 14 universities - 211,446 students enrolled
- 41 universities of applied sciences - 373,532 students enrolled
Total number of international students: 70,000 ( rough estimated)
- 28,900 EFTA students enrolled
- 17,350 non - EFTAstudents enrolled
- 7,300 exchange students
- 16,450 other inbound credit mobile students
