List of English native speaking countries

Are going to study in the Netherlands and do not know if you need to provide a Dutch university with the TOEFL or IELTS certificate?

Non-native speakers of English who have graduated from the school, college or an university degree in one of the countries officially recognized as native-English speaking are proved to have demonstrated the level of mastering English language. They set free from English proficiency tests.

The list of the countries which inhabitants are recognized native speakers of English.

Anguilla, Antigua, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Barbuda, Belize, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Canada (except Quebec), Dominica, Grand Cayman Islands, Grenada, Guyana, Ireland, Jamaica, Montserrat, New Zealand, Saint Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, Tobago,Trinidad,Turks and Caicos Islands,United Kingdom: England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales, United States of America (except Puerto Rico).

The candidates who can prove that prior education solely conducted in English can exempted from English exam requirements. That applies to citizens of non English speaking countries, for instance as India or South Africa.

Why is Nigeria not on the list? We speak English as main language.

Why is South Africa not on this list? Our Native English speaking population is larger than New Zealand.

Some universities accept the South African citizens if they can prove that they are native speakers. For instance, Inholland University.
