AUC is a joint initiative of two major European research universities, the University of Amsterdam and VU University Amsterdam. AUC is located in thecaptial of the Netherlands in the city of Amsterdam.

Amsterdam University College is a residential institution, where the students live and study together in a close-knit academic community.

Amsterdam University College is a small-scale, selective Honours college that offers a full-time three-year liberal arts and sciences programme at Bachelor level, taught in English.

It aims high at academic excellence with an international and intercultural focus, as well as outreach to the (local) community.

It has an engaging academic and social context, supported by small class size, residential college setting and state-of-the-art facilities.

Students will, of course, have access to the facilities of both these institutions, but AUC has its own study programme, its own academic building, and its own student accommodation complex.

With the multicultural city of Amsterdam on the doorstep, and with easy access to all the services of both the University of Amsterdam and VU University Amsterdam.

The student will have the best of both worlds: the intimate and supportive atmosphere of a small-scale institution, plus all the advantages of two major research universities located in a global city.
