Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences offers foundation courses for international students to help them prepare for the school’s English-taught Bachelor’s or Master’s programmes. These courses help students upgrade their English language skills to an appropriate level in order to succeed during their study. The preparatory courses expose students to Dutch teaching methods while helping them connect their previous education with what they will be learning during a higher education study programme in the Netherlands. Upon course completion, students will be able to pass the IELTS exam and will receive the foundation IBA certificate, enabling them to qualify for their preferred degree programme.
Prospective Bachelor’s students can apply to 1 of 2 different preparatory courses, depending on their initial English language proficiency. Both of Wittenborg’s pre-Bachelor’s foundation programmes are offered on the Apeldoorn campus and have 6 different entry points during an academic year. Students from the EU must apply at least 2 weeks prior to the starting date of a preparatory course, while non-EU students have an earlier deadline and should apply 6 weeks in advance.
Students wishing to enroll in one of the Master of Science programmes at Wittenborg University can combine English and Business preparation with their chosen degree course. The 18-month-long Master of Science “Combi Package” programme starts in February. The pre-Master’s part of this course takes 6 months to complete and is part of Wittenborg’s MSc programmes in Hospitality, Events, and Tourism Management. Students will be able to choose their specific programme only at the end of this initial 6-month preparatory period.
