Leiden University Honours Programme 2005-2006 offers thirteen honours classes in different fields of study. Each Honours Class consists of twelve lectures held in English that include the active participation of the students attending.

In general, the classes are open to all second and third-year BA (and BSc) students of Leiden University (Dutch and foreign). Each Honours Class will be limited to a maximum of twelve to fifteen participants. While the exact starting dates of the various Classes can vary, they will all take place in the period January/February to June 2006.

The Classes will normally either be scheduled on Fridays and will be preceded (or followed) by lunch for the students and the guest lecturers. A joint graduation ceremony will be held at the end of June 2006 to present diplomas to those who have participated in the Honours Class.

Application

Students who wish to apply for a place in the Spring 2006 Leiden University Honours Class Programme can contact the admission office before December 9th 2005 for information on the procedure for application to a particular Honours Class, and on the specific terms and conditions of admission.

The general basis for selection of students to participate in an Honours Class will be their grades and their interest in the subject; a selection will be made from those who apply to participate in an Honours Class to reach the final figure of twelve/fifteen who will be admitted as participants.
