Europass makes students more mobile

4 April 2006, (6857 views)
Europass is an initiative of the European Commission and was officially launched in the Netherlands last December. Europass is a passport for training and work experience that ensures transparency and uniformity in the way that people’s diplomas, certificates and competences are presented.

This makes it easier, for example, to evaluate foreign qualifications. The passport is free and is designed to promote occupational mobility amongst students and workers in the EU. Europass consists of five documents.

The Europass CV and Europass Language Passport can be completed on the website at www.europass.nl. The Europass Diploma Supplement (showing the holder’s education record), Europass Mobility (a record of international work experience and training), and the Europass Certificate Supplement (a record of vocation and professional qualifications) must be completed (for Dutch residents) by the Informatie Beheer Groep. The Netherlands is the 19th country to officially adopt the Europass. (From: Transfer, March 2006)
