Bellen is currently Director of Neso Beijing and sometimes also on hand at Neso Jakarta, where his appointment was formally announced on 1 May. His successor in China will be Jacques van Vliet, who will start work on 1 July 2007. Previously, Van Vliet was Director of the International Marketing & Communication department at Nuffic in The Hague.

Charles Hoedt has been appointed as the first Director of Neso Russia, and starts on 1 July 2007 at Nuffic’s new Moscow office. Hoedt has a strong affinity with the Dutch higher education system and Netherlands-Russian relations in the field of education. He has been living in Saint Petersburg since 1998, where he has been Director of KS Media and Editor of the journal of the Netherlands Institute in Saint Petersburg.

Finally, Soehirman Patmo has been appointed Director of Neso Thailand. His formal starting date will be announced in due course. Patmo has worked at Nuffic on various international education projects. He has worked closely on the Neso programme, helping establish Nuffic’s current Neso network. He also has over two decades experience of working in Southeast Asia.
