Between 19 and 26 May 2008, students from all over the world will gather in Nijmegen to compete in cross country, mountain bike marathon, individual time trial and road race cycling events. The WUC Cycling 2008 and the HAN share a passion for sport.

The WUC Cycling strives to inspire students around the world to go for gold. The HAN shares this mission. With an Institute for Sport and Fitness, two sports-related Bachelor programmes (Physical Development Teacher Training and Sport, Health and Management), a lectorate in Sport Diet and Lifestyle, an Expertise Centre for Sport and Health (Seneca) and an emphasis on using examples from the world of sports in other study programmes, the HAN demonstrates the value it places on sport. The HAN is pleased to be a partner in the WUC Cycling 2008, together with the Radboud University of Nijmegen.

Organisation

HAN students will play an active role in the preparation and organisation of WUC Cycling 2008. Under the supervision of HAN teachers and WUC Cycling experts, students will help with logistics planning and event communication, for example, and be on hand during the event itself.

Symposium

The HAN will also organise a symposium about Sport and Health. Students, employees and friends of the HAN will get the chance to participate in the games and competition.
