Thanks to an accord between the Audencia Nantes School of Management (France) and two Airbus manufacturing sites, the company will sponsor research to be carried out by Audencia’s International Institute of Global Purchasing and Supply Chain Management.

In addition, Airbus experts will commit themselves to 15 hours of teaching a year, while the firm will also have an input in student recruitment and career orientation after the Masters. Starting in September 2006, the new Masters programme will consist of 420 class hours.

All students will follow core modules in general management (180 hours) and purchasing and supply chain management (240 hours), before opting for an extra 60 hours’ study of either purchasing or supply, depending on their future career plans. The programme is completed by a Masters thesis of between four and six months.

A first intake of around 15 students is expected, with a minority of these choosing to study the 12-month programme on a part-time basis.
