Although Igor has already studied abroad during an exchange year in Germany, the multicultural environment and internship possibilities that Hanze UAS had to offer him convinced him to move to the Netherlands and study in a country and culture he had always been curious about.

After completing the first semester of his studies, Igor believes that the multicultural environment he studies in is particularly important. Interacting with students from all over the world allows Igor to see how other perspectives and ways of thinking can approach a problem.

This not only helps to develop his own abilities, but it also gives him the opportunity to learn about other cultures while increasing his communicational skills. With group work being a common method included in the IBMS programme, communicating in a multicultural environment becomes very important.

Another part of the study that Igor really values is the focus on each student’s personal skills and abilities. Next to the business knowledge gained, Igor has learned and developed many of his own skills by cooperating and communicating with other students and teaching staff.

Igor also appreciates the opportunities to socialise outside of his study. Student groups such as the International Business School Union (IBSU) provide Igor with a chance to meet other students and to make friends in a more relaxed and social setting.

The fact that Groningen is also very heavily populated with students makes it possible to take part in many activities. Although it is still a small city, Groningen offers students many great things according to Igor.
