Monica Pranato, an Indonesian student at NHTV Breda University of Applied Sciences, talks about studying International Game Architecture and Design at the Bachelor’s level, with her specialisation in Indie Game Development.

Monica chose this programme for her study abroad because she could not prioritise between arts and programming. The Indie Games course gave her an opportunity to develop herself in both areas. She is sure that programming skills will not only allow her to bring her ideas to life, but they will also help in communicating with the rest of the team.

Monica explains that, in her specialisation, more attention is paid to mobile games, the most modern and popular area in the gaming industry. She points out that the university’s facilities are technologically up-to-date and therefore allow the programme to cover aspects of the field such as mobile applications, iPad games, 3D arts, and more.

Monica also talks about the study load during working weeks and weekends. She warns that there is not much of time to take breaks and rest, but she also highlights that the results of this heavy workload are certainly worth the time spent on them.

While talking about the atmosphere at NHTV, Monica emphasizes the international environment of study groups where even Dutch students speaks English when foreign students are around.

She also says a few words about Breda, describing it as a student city with plenty of cozy places suitable for studying and socialising for those who wish to go out.

You can find Monica’s full story at the NHTV Breda Testimonial page.
