Scholarship programmes for EU and non-EU students at Hanze UAS

Hanze University of Applied Sciences, Groningen offers students financial assistance in the form of various grants and scholarships. This support is available for both EU and international students who can’t pay the university’s tuition fees on their own.

In addition to the Hanze Scholarships, students studying at the university can benefit from the Orange Tulip Scholarships, the Netherlands Fellowship Programme, Dutch Scholarships, and other bursaries.

Orange Tulip Scholarships (OTS)

Talented students enrolled in certain Master’s programmes at Hanze UAS can have their tuition fees reduced by nearly € 3,000 by applying for the Orange Tulip Scholarship programme. Run in cooperation with Nuffic NESO’s regional offices, this scholarship is available to students coming to the Netherlands from Brazil, Mexico, Korea, Indonesia, and Russia.

For the 2015-2016 academic year, Hanze UAS, Groningen offers several OTS bursaries for the Master in Communication programme and one scholarship each for the MBA and the Master’s in International Business and Management (MIBM) programmes.

The application deadline for the OTS grants at Hanze UAS is April 1st, 2015.

Netherlands Fellowship Programme (NFP)

The NFP scholarships are available to international students from NFP countries who need financial assistance for professional training and education in Holland. This programme is fully sponsored by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The following Master’s programmes at Hanze UAS, Groningen are eligible for an NFP scholarship:

  • European Master in Renewable Energy,
  • Master in International Communication,
  • Master in International Business and Management,
  • Master of Business Administration.

Eligible candidates must submit their application by the deadline. The first deadline for the 2015-2016 study year is March 10th, 2015.

Dutch scholarships

Bursaries and loans within the frames of the Dutch national grant system (studiefinanciering) are available to students of Dutch nationality who are younger than 30 years old and can not afford higher education programmes on their own. In certain cases, EU students may also be eligible for these grants, e.g. if they have lived in the Netherlands for 5 consecutive years or if they (or their parents or partner) are working in the country for a minimum of 56 hours a month. Hanze UAS, Groningen also participates in various agreements between the Netherlands and other countries and in programmes administered by Nuffic NESO to provide financial aid to students.
