Dutch universities has began to accept applications for the Holland Scholarships. Within the framework of this bursary, 768 non-EEA international students enrolled in certain Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes at Dutch universities in the 2017-2018 study year will receive a one-time grant worth € 5,000. Applications for this scholarship must be sent in before February 1st or May 1st, 2017, depending on the institution.
The Holland Scholarship programme aims to attract more foreign students from outside of the EU to study at Dutch higher education institutions. It also wants to encourage Dutch students to study abroad. To achieve this goal, 768 scholarships have been made available to non-EEA students wishing to study in the Netherlands, as well as to Dutch students wishing to pursue degree programmes at universities in foreign countries. Each of these students will receive a € 5,000 grant, funded by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, EP-Nuffic, and 48 Dutch higher education institutions.
How to obtain a grant?
To be eligible for the Holland Scholarship you must meet some specific criteria.
- are a national of a country from outside of the EU/EEA,
- are applying for a full-time Bachelor’s or Master’s programme at one of the participating Dutch universities,
- meet the particular requirements at your institution of choice, and
- have not previously studied at a Dutch educational institution,
then you can apply for the Holland Scholarship worth a one-time sum of € 5,000!
The application deadline for this scholarship is either February 1st or May 1st (update: with the exception of Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences which accepts applications throughout the academic year). You must apply directly to the university of your choice. You will be informed by the admission office whether this grant is awarded to you.
