“My first impression of NHTV Breda”

Olivia from Germany has always been interested in new languages and cultures. She wanted to study in an international environment, but found that the Tourism courses offered in her home country were mostly theoretical or taught in expensive private institutions. These factors convinced her to look for abroad programmes.

After discovering the Bachelor in Tourism Management programme at NHTV Breda University, Olivia spent a long time chatting with NHTV students that were from Germany before coming to the Netherlands herself. In the blog post “My first impression of NHTV Breda”, Olivia explains her motivation to come to NHTV Breda University and talks about her first moments there.

“When you enter the building , a screen welcomes you. You enter a lobby with a very modern design, with dark colours and bright accents and many paintings and graffitis. There is also a wall where the students can leave a note, which is very interesting and helpful for other students who search for a room or a job.”

“Making the right decisions”

Björn Scheenstra with his friendsBjörn Scheenstra visited many informational evenings and open days at different universities in his home of the Netherlands while searching for the perfect education. Eventually, he was part of an orientation day at NHTV Breda and is now starting his Bachelor’s studies in Real Estate and Facility Management at the university.

In his post, “Making the right decisions”, Björn describes why he ended up choosing NHTV Breda University and also hints at more stories about living in Breda and studying at the university.

“At the orientation day everything felt right. I knew this was something for me, because of the combination in economics and finance and on the other hand management and organization. Thinking of creative solutions to take the max out of a commercial enterprise is something that fits me well. Therefore I know for sure that this programme, International Real Estate and Facility Management, is made for me!”

“Fast track, what does that mean?”

Merel SnijdoodtMerel Snijdoodt from Holland started the International Media and Entertainment Management fast track in 2014 and is now in her 2nd year of the programme. In her blog post, she shares why she chose to follow the 3-year IMEM programme and analyses advantages and disadvantages, compared with the 4-year study option.

Merel’s article is definitely useful for anyone who is considering applying for a fast track programme, especially at NHTV Breda University.

“When I chose the fast track last year, I was scared I didn’t make the right decision. I was just an average student in high school, so wouldn’t be fast track too hard for me? And could I still enjoy my student life besides school? After this first half year of school I know I made the right decision.”
