This 4-year study will prepare students for a professional career in the fields of Industrial and Power Systems and Embedded Systems. Students will study at the university campus located in Arnhem.

Programme overview

Throughout the study, students will learn how to make energy generation more efficient and sustainable. The course will also teach students how to develop smarter and more user-friendly devices. After gaining the latest knowledge related to e-technologies, they will be able to apply it immediately by completing various projects throughout the study. Students will also complete a 6-month work placement during the 3rd year, helping them put their knowledge into practice.

At the beginning of their 2nd year, students will choose one of the following 2 specialisations:

  • Industrial and Power Systems or
  • Embedded Systems.

They will also complete a 6-month minor during their 4th year. This minor may be completed at HAN or at a partner institution in the Netherlands or abroad. The programme will be concluded with a graduation assignment that will be completed at a company.

Career prospects

Upon graduation, students will have the sufficient skills necessary to enter the labour market and work in both the commercial and public sector. Examples of possible positions include embedded software or hardware developer, industrial automation developer, and power engineer.

Those wishing to continue their education can also choose to complete a Master’s programme like the Control System Engineering degree at HAN University.
