At Hanze UAS in GroningenHanze University of Applied Sciences, Groningen has been ranked 25th in the Applied Research category of the 2016 U-Multirank international ranking. This achievement proves that the university continues to add value to its degree programmes, ensuring that Hanze students receive up-to-date knowledge.

U-Multirank is a tool that helps students choose a university that best matches their individual criteria. Unlike traditional university rankings like QS or THE, U-Multirank doesn’t publish an overall ranking list of universities. Instead, it focuses on details which could help prospective students choose a university abroad. For example, if a student is interested in finding a local job after graduation, the unemployment rate of graduates from a certain university would be more useful information than that university’s overall reputation.

The U-Multirank ranking compares universities in 5 main categories:

  • Teaching & Learning,
  • Research,
  • Knowledge Transfer,
  • International Orientation, and
  • Regional Engagement.

Data for the comparison is derived from student and university surveys, as well as international database statistics. In 2016, the ranking compared over 1,300 universities around the world.
