The University of Amsterdam (UvA) invites prospective students and their parents to visit the institution on March 18th, 2017 during their Bachelor’s Open Day. The event will be held in the Dutch capital city and will showcase academic Bachelor’s programmes that are offered at UvA, taught in either English or in Dutch.
Many of the programmes available at the University of Amsterdam are offered at the Master’s level, but there are also 68 programmes available that lead to an academic Bachelor’s diploma. 13 of UvA’s Bachelor’s programmes are taught in English and include courses in the fields of Business, Economics, Econometrics, Communication, Politics, Literature, and Linguistics.
There is also a Liberal Arts and Sciences programme that provides students with a customised approach to education. This degree is offered in partnership with Amsterdam University College.
The perfect way to find out more about these programmes is to visit the university during the Bachelor’s Open Day. This all-day event offers prospective students with a multitude of information about the institution, the city of Amsterdam, and the programmes available.
The Bachelor’s Day agenda
The Open Day for Bachelor’s programmes at the University of Amsterdam is designed to give potential students a clear understanding of whether or not they are choosing the appropriate university and programme to further their education.
During this event, students will be able to explore the programme of their choice thoroughly. Various activities are planned throughout the day to facilitate this exploration, including:
- an information session with a presentation about the chosen programme, offered in English or in Dutch depending on the course selected;
- an information fair that provides prospective students with the opportunity to meet and talk to current UvA students and staff;
- an international session, specifically designed for international students. UvA’s admissions officer will share information about practical matters, such as housing and scholarships, and some of UvA’s current international students will share personal experiences and details about student life.
Students will also have the opportunity to meet with an adviser who can answer any remaining questions related to their programme of interest.
Attending UvA’s Bachelor’s Open Day
This event helps interested individuals get to know what the University of Amsterdam is really like. Prospective students will gain a better understanding of how the study workload takes shape throughout a programme, what makes up student life in Amsterdam, and what career and academic prospects are open to them upon graduating from UvA.
