Hanze UAS helps students launch start-ups

The new edition of the U-Multirank 2017 ranking was released recently. Hanze University of Applied Sciences, Groningen ranked fifth out of 1,465 universities in the category of Graduate companies (start-ups). The university is also at the top of this group within the Netherlands. In addition, Hanze UAS ranked first place out of the 1,236 institutions worldwide for regional joint publications.

The university is also at the top of this group within the Netherlands. In addition, Hanze UAS ranked first place out of the 1,236 institutions worldwide for regional joint publications.

These results reflect the achievements of Hanze UAS within the Innovating Together strategic plan for 2016–2020. The university’s goal with this plan is to launch 500 new companies annually by 2020, thus creating 5,000 new jobs.

Hanze UAS has also made considerable investments focused on regional cooperation. These investments include the creation of living labs, which are physical or virtual spaces where research, teaching, and industry can come together to collaborate and find innovative solutions based on real-life cases. Some initiatives launched through the living labs include EnTranCe and the Health Hub Roden.

About U-Multirank

In 2017, U-Multirank compared more than 1,500 research universities and universities of applied sciences in 99 countries worldwide. The ranking has been carrying out its research with the support of the European Commission since 2011. Its results are published annually on the U-Multirank website.
