Hanze UAS trains tomorrow’s experts

Globalisation and digitalisation is changing our world rapidly. Several years ago, being an expert in a single area meant you could be successful. Companies these days, however, face increasingly complex challenges and need specialists that have more of a multidisciplinary approach. Today’s professionals must be flexible and innovative, with the ability to explore problems from different points of view in order to find the best solutions possible.

Hanze UAS trains students to see issues and problems from various contexts, transforming challenges into opportunities using this approach. The university’s Master’s programmes allow students to deepen their understanding of an area of expertise while also linking to other relevant areas. This results in graduates that have a more robust and comprehensive perspective of the modern world, increasing their chances of success throughout their careers.

Studying in the best Dutch student city

Groningen, located in the northern part of the Netherlands, is primarily a student city. It has a population of about 200,000, of which 25% are students. Compared to other Dutch cities, Groningen’s average age is relatively young because of its large student body.

Most students study at either the University of Groningen or at Hanze University of Applied Sciences. The two universities share facilities and work closely together.

The Dutch news magazine, Elsevier, and research firm, ResearchNed, recently named Groningen “Best Student City of the Netherlands, 2016”. The city scored highest on cultural hotspots, nightlife, and restaurants.

Highlighted Master’s programmes

Hanze UAS offers English-taught Master’s programmes in the fields of Business, Engineering, Communication, Arts, and Music. Notable programmes include:

  • the European Master in Sustainable Energy System Management, which focuses on the business aspect of energy transition and offers students a different career perspective;
