Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences reports that nine of ten its current students are international — more than at any other Dutch educational institution.


Studiekeuze123 has published results of National Student Survey in the Netherlands for 2016. Master’s programme in Economics at Vrije University Amsterdam received highest ranking in its category.


Elsevier Magazine publishes a ranking of Dutch universities of applied sciences and research universities every year. The score of each university is heavily based on the results of the annual National Student Questionnaire (Nationale Studenten Enquete, or NSE).

The World Economics Forum has published its Global Competitiveness Index (GCI) for 2016-2017. The Netherlands improved by one position since last year’s GCI, taking 4th place overall.



The Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), also known as the Shanghai Ranking, recently released their 2016 edition of the top 500 universities in the world. Many of the Netherlands’ research institutions, which offer higher education for international students, maintained their high standings and good reputation. Some of the institutions improved their overall global positions and also excelled in specific subjects and fields of science.


Hanze University of Applied Sciences, Groningen has been ranked 25th in the Applied Research category of the 2016 U-Multirank international ranking. This achievement proves that the university continues to add value to its degree programmes, ensuring that Hanze students receive up-to-date knowledge.


Studiekeuze123, a Dutch student guide, has published the results of the National Student Survey (NSE) for 2016 in which NHTV Breda University of Applied Sciences has achieved better scores than the national average in nearly all categories.


The recently released Keuzegids Masters 2016 ranking assessed graduate programmes at Dutch universities. The Master’s programme in Imagineering at NHTV Breda University of Applied Sciences has become "top-rated programme" second year in a row. It was also named best Business Administration programme in the Netherlands.


Tilburg University is known for degree programmes in Business, Economics, Finance, Law, and Social Sciences. The university’s outstanding reputation in these areas was reaffirmed in 2015 based on its high scores in global and national university rankings. These great results maintain the institution’s status as one of the leading specialised research universities in Europe and the world.
