Dutch universities usually do not provide student accommodation in dorms. Students reside in regular apartments they find via universities or specialised websites. In the capital of the Netherlands there are must more students than rooms, and finding one often requires exceptional efforts.


As of 2017, VU University Amsterdam will offer a new Bachelor’s programme in Psychology, taught in English. The programme takes three years to complete and leads to a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree.


International students applying for the Master’s programmes at VU University Amsterdam may also apply for the university’s scholarships. Scholarships are tuition fee waivers and do not cover living costs and other expenses.
