Education First, a private company focusing on the link between education and language skills across the globe, recently released its 2012 English Proficiency Index (EPI) report. This report measures the English proficiency of people in non-English speaking countries. The Netherlands ranks 3rd globally.


Many Brazilian students crossed the borders of their country this academic year in order to obtain new study experiences at foreign universities. One of them, Guido Guimbard, chose Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences for his abroad education, and became one of 350 student from Brazil who came to the Netherlands this year. Now, few weeks within his studies, Guido shares first experience about Wittenborg UAS, his course, and the city of Apeldoorn.

Technological developments of Inholland University students resulted with innovative Apollo vehicle, capable of covering 2.400 km on one liter of Bioethanol fuel. This car will participate in the 'Shell Eco-Marathon' race in Rotterdam in May 2013, and then will be recycled into wind wagon Anemo VI for the 'Racing Aeolus 2013' competition in August.

Cancer research conducted by HAN students and teachers of Life Sciences and Biochemistry is used by Oxford University to do further research. The successful collaboration also resulted in 2 internship places for HAN students Oxford University.
