Hanze University of Applied Sciences, Groningen has been ranked 25th in the Applied Research category of the 2016 U-Multirank international ranking. This achievement proves that the university continues to add value to its degree programmes, ensuring that Hanze students receive up-to-date knowledge.


HAN University of Applied Sciences has launched a new student blog website in English with entries from international students. In their posts, students describe their experience with living in the Netherlands and studying at HAN’s Business faculty, the Arnhem Business School. Below are some of the student entries featured on the site that may be helpful for prospective and new students.


My name is Oleh Zelenyak. I am from Uzhhorod, Ukraine. I am 20 years old and I am taking the International Fresh Business Management Bachelor’s programme at the Fontys campus in Venlo, the Netherlands. Below you will find some of the experiences I gained during my first year at the university.


Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences will begin to offer a new international Master’s programme in 2016, instructing students in the field of Sport Business Management. The programme will start on October 17th and will take 1 study year to complete. Its graduates will receive a Master of Science degree from the University of Brighton, UK.


Studiekeuze123, a Dutch student guide, has published the results of the National Student Survey (NSE) for 2016 in which NHTV Breda University of Applied Sciences has achieved better scores than the national average in nearly all categories.



Starting September 2016, Saxion University of Applied Sciences offers an innovative new Master in Applied Nanotechnology. The 2-year programme offers extensive theoretical and practical knowledge of all disciplines related to design, laboratory and manufacturing techniques.


HAN University of Applied Sciences offers four English-taught Bachelor’s programmes at Arnhem Business School, teaching students Business, Finance, Logistics, and Communication. Students applying at the school don’t have to choose one particular course right away. They can make the selection later, after the International First Year.


Nintendo Benelux organised a Super Mario Maker competition that revealed some of the best current Game designers. Leroy Freeth won the competition (and took home a brand new Wii-U console!) after building the most creative and playable level for Nintendo’s game. Leroy is a 2nd year Bachelor’s student enrolled in the Game Design & Development programme at Hanze University of Applied Science, Groningen.


This spring, Nuffic Neso’s regional offices will begin to carry out entrance examination for overseas prospective students applying at Dutch universities. The exams will assess knowledge in Math and disciplines related to Business studies.


Hanze University of Applied Sciences, Groningen introduces a new English-taught study programme: the European Master’s in Sustainable Energy System Management (SESyM). Students will be able study at institutions in the Netherlands, Italy, and Spain. The course will be offered as of September 2016 and will take 16 months to complete.
