Detailed info

BBA in Hotel Management

Hotelschool The Hague (HTH) offers a Bachelor of Business Administration in Hotel Management degree which is taught entirely in English and takes 4 years to complete.

The university was founded in 1929. It has been “at the heart of hospitality” since that time, accumulating teaching experience to provide ambitious and entrepreneurial students with the best possible preparation for a professional career in an international environment.

For students with prior education in hospitality or other related fields, Hotelschool The Hague also offers the International Fast Track (IFT) programme. This accelerated option leads to the same qualification as the 4 year Bachelor’s degree (BBA in Hotel Management), but only takes 2 years to complete. The International Fast Track at HTH starts in July every year.

The Hotel Management programme at Hotelschool The Hague welcomes students from over 50 countries. In their first year students live and work together at the Skotel, the school’s training company and student residence. They also complete two internships abroad during their studies. The internships are designed to help them gain valuable international experience by becoming accustomed to a variety of languages, cultures, and traditions.

Programme curriculum

The Hotel Management Bachelor’s programme at HTH is divided into 3 phases. During phase I students learn existing hospitality theory and practice, including subjects related to international business and language. This stage takes 1 year to complete.

Phase II consists of international placements where students learn to apply their newly gained knowledge, as well as business, language, and management skills needed for working in a multinational environment. This phase lasts 1.5 years.

Phase III, or the final phase, comprises of subjects and electives which advance student skills to a strategic level that teaches them to search for innovative and entrepreneurial solutions. During this phase students work on their research project and prepare for their hotel management career during international placements. This phase also has a 1.5 year duration.

More information about the Hotel Management programme can be found on the HTH website.
