Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences was founded in 1987 in the city of Deventer. Established by a Dutch entrepreneur and managed by a group of multinational partners, this private institution quickly became an expert authority for the Banking, Insurance, and Real Estate Management industries, with hundreds of graduates filling positions in these fields. In 2010, the university moved its location to the city of Apeldoorn.
Throughout the years, Wittenborg University has established partnerships with other higher education institutions worldwide. One of these partnerships is with the University of Brighton in the United Kingdom. The cooperation between these two institutions allows for Wittenborg University to offer three Master’s of Science (MSc) programmes for its students in International Event Management, International Tourism Management, and International Hospitality Management. Enrolled students will have the opportunity to study in both countries during the programme.
Programmes of Wittenborg University have been accredited by the Netherlands and Flemish Accreditation Organisation (NVAO) and it has become recognised as an English-speaking international university. Wittenborg is a small-sized university with around 250 students from 50 countries.
